CicLAvia is back! On Sunday, July 19, 2026, CicLAvia — Los Angeles's largest open streets event — will once again transform Hollywood Blvd, Highland Ave, and Santa Monica Blvd into a 6.6-mile car-free pop-up park stretching from East Hollywood to West Hollywood.
Streets will be closed to cars from 7am to 6pm, with the public event running from 9am to 4pm. The community is invited to enjoy the streets free of cars in any people-powered way — walking, jogging, biking, roller skating, skating, or simply spectating.

🗺️ What Outpost Estates Neighbors Should Know
The CicLAvia route runs along Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave — directly south of and adjacent to Outpost Estates. While our hillside streets will not be part of the closure, the surrounding area will see significant changes to traffic patterns during the event:
Hollywood Blvd, Highland Ave, and Santa Monica Blvd will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 7am to 6pm
All bus routes along the CicLAvia route will be detoured — check Metro for service updates the day of the event
Plan ahead if you need to leave or enter the neighborhood by car — Franklin Ave and Cahuenga Blvd will likely be busier than usual as alternative routes
The Hollywood/Highland intersection — one of the most common access points for getting in and out of Outpost Estates — will be impacted
Even if you do not plan to attend, please plan your day with these closures in mind.
🎉 New to CicLAvia? Here Are Some Things to Know Before You Go:
CicLAvia is FREE for everyone — no registration required.
The event runs 9am to 4pm, but streets are closed from 7am to 6pm.
It is not a race — there is no starting point or finish line. Begin where you like and enjoy the day at your own pace.
Traffic flows in two directions, just like regular streets. Check out the full rules of the route.
Only people-powered vehicles are allowed, with exceptions for persons with disabilities. That means no electric scooters, electric skateboards, hoverboards, electric unicycles, or motorcycles. Motorized wheelchairs and similar mobility devices are permitted.
E-bikes: Class 1 e-bikes are allowed in pedal-assist mode. Class 2 e-bikes are allowed when the throttle is powered off. Class 3 e-bikes are allowed when pedal-assist is powered off. General rule of thumb — if you are pedaling (and not riding), you are clear. Learn more.
Hubs along the route offer community partner booths, food trucks, restrooms, water, and activities. Use the CicLAvia digital map to plan your day.
Liability waiver: As consideration for being allowed to participate, all participants are deemed to have released CicLAvia, its organizers, employees, officers, volunteers, and agents from liability for any injury or loss resulting from participation. Participants assume all known and unknown risks of participation in CicLAvia.
📅 Want to Get Involved?
CicLAvia is hosting a virtual community meeting on Monday, June 8, 2026 to share more information about the route, street closures, and how the community can engage with the event. Information about the meeting will be posted at ciclavia.org/ciclavia_meet_the_hollywoods26.
If you would like a CicLAvia representative to present at a future ONA Board meeting, contact ONA at info@outpostestates.com and we will help coordinate.
🚲 More About CicLAvia
CicLAvia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has been opening streets throughout Los Angeles County since 2010. CicLAvia events temporarily close streets to cars and open them up to people, encouraging Angelenos to discover their neighborhoods and connect with their communities in new ways. The program has hosted dozens of open streets events across LA County and is widely recognized as the largest open streets program in the United States.
We hope to see Outpost Estates neighbors out enjoying the streets on July 19th!
