Private Home Security Patrol Options in Outpost Estates

Outpost Neighborhood Association (ONA) does not endorse or recommend any specific security company. Our goal is to keep neighbors informed about options that residents are using, and to share opportunities that may affect neighborhood safety and services.

What does private home security provide?

Private home security patrol and armed response services security providers can complement Los Angeles Police Department by offering:

  • Neighborhood patrols by highly visible officers

  • Armed response to alarms and calls about suspicious activity

  • Integration with home alarm and video systems for faster, better-informed response

  • Vacation/special watch requests and patrol escorts for safe entry/exit from home

In early 2025, Post Alarm Systems & Armed Patrol Services (Post) presented to ONA the services they currently provide to many residents in Outpost Estates. This includes having approximately 100 homes in Outpost Estates that currently subscribe to Post’s services with the average customer paying about $78 per month. Post signaled that if 40 additional Outpost homes enroll in Post’s services, and existing patrol subscribers move to $100/month, Post will assign one dedicated patrol vehicle exclusively to Outpost Estates for 8 hours per day, 7 days per week.

What does a dedicated patrol mean?

  • Consistent daily coverage by a dedicated unit during the assigned 8-hour window

  • Faster response to alarms and calls for suspicious activity when the patrol car is already in the neighborhood

  • Increased visibility, which can act as a deterrent

Important note about neutrality and choice

ONA does not endorse any company. Many residents use Post’s services, but you should evaluate multiple licensed providers to find the right fit for your home. When comparing companies, consider:

  • Licensing, training standards, and local response capabilities

  • Integration with your existing alarm/cameras and live video monitoring options

  • Patrol coverage model (shared vs. dedicated), hours, and response times

  • Vacation watch and escort services

  • Contract length, cancellation terms, false alarm policies, and total monthly/installation costs

  • Data privacy and how video/alarm data are stored and shared
